Continuum Press Play Digital Series: Episode 32
The Continuum ensemble, Gather Round Singers, and Jumblies Theatre artists come together for the premiere performance of so here I am by Canadian composer Christina Volpini. The material for the piece is drawn from interviews from members of the Gather Round Singers during Zoom choir rehearsals over the pandemic. This is a live recording from the Grounds for Goodness event on February 26, 2022 at the Small Arms Inspection Building. Christina discusses the process of composing the work with Robert Fleitz, who also composed a piece for the Grounds for Goodness suite of works.

Toronto Symphony Orchestra: Bronfman Plays Beethoven
As a way to further celebrate the TSO’s relationship with Toronto, Gustavo Gimeno has commissioned ten three-minute “Celebration Preludes” from composers across the GTA, representing the diversity of voices in our community. Continuing on from the Celebration Preludes that were presented over the 2021/22 season, five more composers will have their works premièred in 2022/23.

Continuum in the Classroom Mentorship: Teen Composer Award
The Continuum Contemporary Ensemble Teen Composer Award provides an invaluable and practical compositional experience, one-on-one mentorship, professional development resources and an introduction to the Canadian new music community. During the fall of 2019 and early 2020, the selected composer was mentored by Canadian composer Christina Volpini, who served as a guide for the composition process. Continuum’s Artistic Director and percussionist Ryan Scott also provided a lesson on writing for percussion.
