Written for Unheard Of Ensemble.

Premiered 3 September 2016 at Scholes Street Studio, New York City, NY

Inspired by the second movement of Mahler’s seventh symphony, this piece explores the dramatic and sonic effect of shifting sounds through the performance space. As the players move between the foreground and background, sounds and motives are presented in differing spatial contexts. The work also explores the liminal space between pitched and unpitched musical materials.
